PLANCKIAN

Quantum batteries are a new class of devices capable of taking advantage of quantum physical effects to manage energy more efficiently. Planckian's scientific leadership has made a pioneering contribution to the development of this field of research, starting with the definition of the first operational models of solid-state devices for energy management governed by quantum mechanical principles.

Thanks to these achievements and to the combined expertise in both materials’ science and quantum theory, Planckian's ambition is to expand the boundaries of the quantum revolution through the development of new energy technologies based on qubit architectures. Qubits are the fundamental units of quantum technologies. They identify physical particles and systems (such as atoms), with two distinct states of energy.

In Planckian architecture, quantum effects allow the qubits to reach their maximum energy level in a 'collective' manner: this behaviour, so called entanglement, can be activated to manage the reduction of charge time as the number of qubits increases, and the reduction of the energy which runs within the device.

For this reason, the technology represents the first step towards the development of a new concept of energy management devices resulting in high efficiency, low environmental impact, and a potentially infinite lifecycle, by following physical principles in place of traditional electrochemical ones.

EUREKA! VIEW

Team with a strong scientific expertise. Planckian with its new concept of quantum battery is leading to a new concept of energy storage systems moved by the growing demand of energy management and the need to overcome limitation of the classical systems. In addition, the technology will support other quantum technology related domains, such as quantum sensing and simulation. Planckian can benefit of a strong network of top-class scientists and collaborations with leading research centers in quantum tech, to develop know how and to build a knowledge network sensing opportunity.
